Who we are
TM Aspire Medical Centre ("we", "us") provides outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, pharmacy and emergency services in Vihiga County. We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya and the duty of confidentiality that applies to all health information.
Information we collect
- Contact details — your name, phone number and email when you book an appointment, send a message, apply for a job or enquire about a tender.
- Health information — symptoms, diagnoses, treatment, lab results, prescriptions and visit notes recorded as part of your care.
- Billing information — invoices and payment records. We do not store your M-Pesa PIN or card details.
- Patient portal account — your email and an encrypted password, plus a record of portal activity.
How we use it
- To provide, record and follow up on your care.
- To arrange, confirm and remind you about appointments.
- To bill for services and record payments.
- To reply to your messages and enquiries.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a health facility.
We do not sell your information or use your health information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only when it is needed for your care or required by law, for example with:
- clinicians and facilities we refer you to;
- your insurer or scheme, when you ask us to bill them;
- public health authorities, where reporting is required by law;
- service providers who host our systems and send our emails, under confidentiality obligations.
How we protect and keep it
Access to records is limited to staff who need it, protected by passwords and logged. We keep medical records for as long as the law requires, and other information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act you may ask to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your data;
- have data deleted where we are not required to keep it.
You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
Cookies and this website
This website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in to the patient portal or staff console. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The map on our pages is provided by Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy.
